Job Description

GENERAL SUMMARY:

The Office of Student Affairs seeks one Graduate Assistant to assist with website updates and content development projects. The Graduate Assistant will review, edit, and develop content, and update websites using the LibGuides platform.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Works with the Office of Student Affairs Manager in supporting the goals of the Office of Student Affairs and Content Management Teams. 
  • Reviews website content and enhances existing web pages with new images and design elements.
  • Improves website accessibility by converting video transcripts into an online format and creating new transcripts.
  • Reviews, updates, and enhances Career Planning and Development’s YouTube Channel.
  • Updates monthly website and social media content to advertise Office of Student Affairs events.
  • Learns LibGuides content management system to implement content changes.
  • Attends meetings via Teams and collaborates with Manager to ensure project completion.
  • The Graduate Assistant should plan to commit approximately 40 hours a month (10 hours/week) to this position.

OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • May contribute content for the Career Planning and Development blog and other social media channels.
  • May support the Career Planning and Development team on video and webinar projects.
  • May complete other technically related projects as needed.

Qualifications

TECHNICAL, MANAGERIAL, and PEOPLE SKILLS REQUIRED

  • Experience with web development including knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript preferred.
  • Strong technology skills, writing skills, and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Must manage time effectively to meet project timelines.
  • Proven ability to work independently and in a collaborative team.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  • Candidates must be graduate or doctoral students with an overall GPA of 3.5 or better on all Walden University coursework completed.
  • Preference will be given to Instructional Design and Educational Technology & Design students and others with website design, instructional design, HTML, and content management experience.
  • Previous samples of work in website design or instructional design preferred.
