We are seeking a dedicated General Mechanic to join our ground operations team. The General Mechanic will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and ensuring the operational readiness of ground support equipment used in various aerospace and defense applications. This role requires a combination of technical expertise, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety and quality.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on a wide range of ground support equipment, including but not limited to power units, hydraulic systems, towing equipment, and aircraft servicing equipment.
  • Diagnose mechanical and electrical problems, replace defective parts, and perform necessary adjustments to ensure equipment reliability and performance.
  • Follow established maintenance schedules and adhere to industry standards and company procedures.
  • Document maintenance actions, including repairs, replacement of parts, and service intervals, ensuring accurate records are maintained.
  • Collaborate with the ground operations team to ensure equipment availability aligns with operational requirements.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to junior technicians, contributing to their development and ensuring team knowledge is up-to-date.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to safety regulations and best practices.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives aimed at increasing efficiency and reducing equipment downtime.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in ground support equipment maintenance or a related field.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot and repair complex mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Familiarity with aerospace industry standards and regulations.
  • Proficient in the use of hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret maintenance manuals, schematics, and blueprints.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Must be able to work flexible hours, including overtime and weekends as needed.
  • Ability to lift heavy objects and work in various weather conditions.
  • Must be a U.S. person as defined by ITAR (22 CFR ยง120.15).

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with aviation ground support equipment is highly desirable.
