Overview
LMI is seeking a Human Resources Support Specialist to support our team within the Office of the Under Secretary of Defense, Acquisition and Sustainment (OUSD(A&S)). This role supports the A&S human resources staff in the Directorate for Business Operations by advising senior level authorities with military staffing, performance appraisals, awards, and professional development to comply with regulatory mandates. Communication with the organization’s senior-level staff and collaboration with a broad range of personnel is also required. The position will be located at the Pentagon. This position requires an Active Secret clearance.

Responsibilities
- Supports Air Force Military Placement, Promotions and Rotations.
- Develops strategic guidance for effective allocation and execution of military resources.
- Lead and focal point in OUSD(A&S) for all Air Force military human resources actions.
- Plans, coordinates, and implements Air Force management level reviews (MLR) promotion panels.
- Coordinates with Washington Headquarters Services, Military Personnel Directorate on military personnel requisitions, Air Force colonel assignments, military DoD level awards and decorations, special code changes, promotion lists, school boards, and manpower changes.
- Ensures military evaluation reports are submitted in accordance with respective Service directives, establishes suspense system to facilitate reports are rendered on a timely basis. Provides daily business operations for military support to the DBO directorate, the backbone of the OUSD(A&S).
- Administers the military operations portfolio providing support that encompasses all phases and execution of the Executive, Performance Management and Augmentee Programs.
- Delivers support to the Human Capital Team/OUSD(A&S) ensuring accurate and effective execution of the process within policy and regulatory guidelines.
- Leads the planning, policy interpretation and execution of Human Resource Personnel Readiness, and HR Plans, Operations and Exercises. Provides oversight of the missions and regulations, while simultaneously advising senior management on multiple diverse, sensitive, and extremely complex HR programs, services, systems, plans, initiatives, and operations.
- Assesses vacancy announcements; reviewing position descriptions for classification or update; and filing SF-50s (Notification of Personnel Action) from DCPDS; utilizing personnel databases to enter and track information, and extract data to generate reports for statistical purposes; maintaining and updating status reports for HR actions.
- Coordinates agreements and memorandum of understanding between USD(A&S) and other agencies in support of the military detail and augmentee program.
- Prepares and reviews correspondence and responds to customer inquiries. Assists with communication information and materials for OUSD(A&S) workforce by composing written communication guidance and developing resource materials.
- Executes memorandums of acknowledgment for the Undersecretary to the Services on promotion statistics for Acquisition workforce officers across the Department.
- Researches, examines, interprets, and applies rules, regulations of military personnel functions to guarantee regulatory compliance.
- Analyzes and prepares correspondence in multiple data systems and workflows such as Correspondence and Task Management Systems (CATMS) for military personnel.
- Executes organizational management responsibilities, processes, and procedures for Freedom of Information Act (FOIA), records management and privacy act.
- Reviews, interprets, and provides comments, recommendations, and guidance on policies. Assists with the development, review, and maintenance of written internal Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Business Rules, technical memos, and written regulatory guidance to ensure applicability with policies, and other regulatory guidance.
- Processes General/Flag Officer appointment and retirement packages from the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff in the OUSD(A&S), collaborating with confirmation and appointments timelines.
