MANTECH seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented Shipboard Maintenance Technician to join our team in Oxnard, CA (Port Hueneme).  This is an on-site position.
 

As a Shipboard Maintenance Technician, you will support the Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC) Underway Replenishment (UNREP) Division’s maintenance efforts for Military Sealift Command (MSC) platforms. You will be responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting UNREP equipment, providing operational support and maintenance at the UNREP Test Site and aboard U.S. Naval Ships (USNS).

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Perform maintenance and troubleshooting on UNREP equipment onboard USNS platforms during maintenance availabilities and at the UNREP Test Site

  • Must possess a valid US Passport and have the ability to travel internationally to complete UNREP maintenance for extended periods (trip duration can last in excess of 3 months, with trips totaling 50% of work year)

  • Assist with the overhaul of UNREP equipment such as the Navy Standard Transmission at the UNREP Test Site

  • Collaborate with senior engineers and ship managers to organize and complete maintenance tasks for UNREP systems

  • Assist with the preparation and planning of future UNREP equipment maintenance events

  • Complete detailed reports documenting ship visits, maintenance actions, and equipment support provided

  • Communicate effectively with senior leadership, co-workers, and customers to resolve technical issues and ensure smooth maintenance processes

  • Use wiring lists, schematics, blueprints, and written/verbal instructions to route, tag, test, and terminate shipboard cables

  • Follow all technical manuals and safety procedures for safe equipment overhaul and operability testing

  • Perform other duties as assigned related to ship maintenance and operations

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent

  • 2+ years of experience in the US Navy/MSC technical rating, automotive or oil industry, or similar fields requiring maintenance on large-scale equipment

  • 2+ years of technical maintenance experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with UNREP and/or other Navy equipment op
