Senior Financial Business Analyst

<p><span>The Commodities Division is seeking a highly motivated Associate/VP to join the Global Commodities </span><span>Chief Operating Officer (</span><span>COO) team.  The </span><span>Commodities COO team assists with business development, strategy support, financial resource management, enablement of business initiatives and coordination across support groups.  This role will require the individual to support the global team.  Candidate will work across regions and must be flexible with working hours and be able to work well under pressure and manage his/her workflow optimally.</span></p><p></p><p><b><span>Position <span>Description:  </span> </span></b></p><ul><li><span>Partner with division management to execute business priorities and manage the daily operation of the global commodities business.</span></li><li><span>Manage divisions financial resources (capital, liquidity and balance sheet) across various MS legal <span>entities.  </span> </span></li><li><span>Coordinate process and procedures for initial margin, capital and liquidity optimization. Introduce tools to manage accordingly.</span></li><li><span>Launch expense mitigation project for improve profit before tax (PBT)</span></li><li><span>Enhance existing procedures for Vendor onboarding. </span></li><li><span>Negotiate OTC broker rates as well as Exchange Incentive Programs.</span></li><li><span>Continue to enhance sales reporting and further align reporting capabilities across broader FID (Fixed-income Division).</span></li><li><span>Resolve daily ad hoc issues as they arise (ex. trade discrepancies, p/l issues, new transaction execution, etc.).</span></li><li><span>Create strategic presentations and materials for Commodities Management</span></li><li><span>Coordinate business planning, headcount and budget setting across global Commodities and FID.</span></li><li><span>Collaborate with Firm partners across Equities, Investment Banking and Capital Markets.  </span></li></ul><p><b><span>Skills: </span></b></p><ul><li><span>Has quantitative, analytical and problem-solving skills – is a quick learner, adaptable to changing business requirements.</span></li><li><span>Exercises judgment with a strong work ethic.</span></li><li><span>Able to execute quickly, multi-task and prioritize.</span></li><li><span>Exhibits excellent written and verbal communication skills with the highest attention to detail – including strong note taking and information distillation skills.</span></li><li><span>Is a strong team-player and collaborator – enthusiastic and motivated with a professional attitude and demeanor.</span></li><li><span>Interested and knowledgeable in the finance industry.</span></li><li><span>Advanced knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite (Microsoft Office, especially Powerpoint and Excel, essential.  VBA, Dashboards, Tableau &amp; Salesforce.</span></li><li><span>Minimum 3-5 years of experience in FID or relevant field.</span></li></ul><p></p><p><span>#LI-NB1 #LI-hybrid BPDBA</span></p><p></p><p><b>WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT FROM MORGAN STANLEY:</b><span> </span></p><p></p><p>We are committed to maintaining the first-class service and high standard of excellence that have defined Morgan Stanley for over 89 years.
