Senior Accountant

Responsible for the preparation of financial statements, monthly budget packages, general ledger budget vs. actual analysis, statistical accumulations, flex budget statistical reporting, Workmen’s Compensation accounting records and Affiliates billings.

Required Skills/Qualifications/Training/Experience:

• Minimum of 3-5 years of accounting experience, preferably in a hospital environment
• Ability to understand and apply General Accounting principles and procedures for the Hospital’s general ledger system. Must be able to take Hospital books from journal entry through financial statement presentation. Ability to operate and use existing computer software, Workday and HIS Meditech financial systems in performance of duties.
• Computer literate in Excel spreadsheet software, also Microsoft Word. Proficient with a calculator. Positive interpersonal communications skills, command of verbal and written English. Ability to adapt to computer updates, changes and conversions. Ability to follow through with a request or problem with minimal supervision.
• Sit for long periods of time. Repeat the same movements. Use hands to control tools, such as computers. See details of objects that are less than a few feet away. Speak clearly so listeners can understand. Understand the speech of another person.

Educational Requirements:

• Associates or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, and/or related Hospital experience preferred.

License/Certification: N/A
