Job Description
POSITION SUMMARY:
Responsible for diagnosing and repairing electronic components and systems within the production facilities. The Electronic Technician will be required to interface and communicate with co-workers, equipment operators, engineers, and operations supervisors to complete their tasks. Some overtime and weekend hours will be required on occasion to meet production and project schedules. An on-call rotating schedule may also be implemented for weekend and overnight coverage as needed. Limited travel may be required in support of training program and new equipment purchases and installations.

QUALIFICATIONS:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
3 to 5 years’ prior employment in a maintenance / electronics field, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
Additional Education, Training, Certifications, or Licenses that are applicable will be considered and may be used to supersede years of prior experience in a manufacturing environment.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Must be able to read, write, and communicate in English.
Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals.
Must routinely author reports and correspondence either in digital or handwritten formats.
Communicate effectively with supervisor, engineers, and co-workers.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS and SCIENTIFIC PRINCIPLES:
Required to perform basic mathematical functions with decimals, fractions, or percentages.
Convert numbers from scientific notation to decimal form.
Convert units of measurement between English and Metric systems.
Basic understanding of common scientific principles like energy, fluid dynamics, and thermodynamics.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Comfortable working with equipment operating with low Voltage (50V–1000V) and Medium Voltage (1kV–100 kV).
Familiar with high voltage equipment and components.
Proficiently reads and interprets electronic drawings and schematics.
Experience and understanding of calibration processes.
Mechanically inclined individual that thrives in a hands-on, demanding environment with little direct supervision once assignments are handed out.
PLC experience, knowledge, and training in following ladder logic to identify cause of faults.
- PLC (Programmable Logic Control) troubleshooting and programming
- Familiar with Allen Bradley ( RXlogix)and Siemens (Step7) software to be used at PLC
Troubleshooting VFDs and associated equipment.
Robotic system programming, troubleshooting, and repairs.
Programming and setting up SCADA systems is a highly sought skill.
Troubleshooting industrial networking systems like TCP/IP is highly sought.
Open and accepting to changes in work scope and/or priorities as dictated by the environment.
May be required to operate forklift (training provided).
Experience with VFD (Variable frequency drive)
- Adjust and calibrate sensors, and power supply.
- Understand calibration procedures.
