JOB SUMMARY:

This is a Senior Tax Specialist position in the General Tax Administration Program, Audit Process. The incumbent is responsible for completing sales and use tax audits, providing technical assistance and support to audit staff, and developing, maintaining, and delivering educational courses. Duties may include reviewing audits for quality control; assisting with audits; providing feedback for the development of audit procedures; preparing presentations regarding tax law and audit procedures; developing aids to assist audit staff; developing audit training; creating surveys to measure learner satisfaction and course effectiveness; and facilitating training through web conferencing software or in a classroom setting. Additional responsibilities include converting and creating auditor content that is engaging and interactive, whether delivered remotely, live, online, or through self-study courses.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:  

  • Currently employed with the Florida Department of Revenue.
  • 30 months of experience performing sales and use tax audits in the compliance audit process.
  • Six months of experience as a Tax Auditor IV or Tax Auditor V.
  • Experience training others.

PREFERENCES:

  • Experience working with Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Experience working with SAP/ACM (Systems, Applications, and Products/Audit Case Management).

SPECIAL NOTES:

  • This position requires the use of your personal vehicle to conduct work assignments.
  • This position may require travel which may include multiple overnight stays.

SALARY: The hiring salary for this position will generally not exceed $5,327.09 monthly/$63,925.11 annually. For applicants with a current CAD, the CAD will be added to the salary amount.
