Triage Nurse, Physician Practice (Temporary)

Job Summary:

The Triage Nurse handles live calls for all patients calling the office with questions, documents the encounters and makes recommendations based on their scope of practice and established protocols. Assists management of the message pool for the triage nurses.

Duties and Responsibilities

Handles live calls for all patients calling the office with questions, documents the encounters and makes recommendations based on their scope of practice and established protocols.

Assists management of the message pool for the triage nurses

Communicate with physicians and other Practice staff to consult on patient status and to ensure continuity of care.

Maintain patient’s medical records in an orderly manner and document all care provided and significant information, legibly, accurately and completely.

Assume responsibility for own professional development, setting goals and striving to achieve them through available resources, such as attending seminars, in-services and/or reading journals.

Performs all other related duties as assigned.

Requirements: 

Graduation from an accredited nursing program with RI State Licensure is required. RN License preferred. Bilingual in Spanish preferred.
