We are seeking a Full-Time energetic and reliable individual to join our team as a Surgical Technician.


The successful candidate will be responsible to assists the surgery center and daily function of the operating room in accordance with established Federal, State and accreditation standards and center policies and procedures.  Assists the physicians and clinical team in delivering the highest standard of patient care available.


Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Participates in the development of a healthy work environment. 
  • Participates in direct patient care including maintaining a clean, orderly, and safe environment. 
  • Anticipates the need for equipment and supplies based on surgeon preference.
  • Selects equipment and supplies in an organized, cost effective and timely manner.
  • Keeps surgical sites clean, tidy, free of soiled equipment and supplies, and properly stocked.
  • Initiates corrective actions when surgical counts are incorrect or breaks in technique occur.
  • Assists with inventory management.
  • Assist with operating room turnover, and preparation of sterile supplies (e.g. opening, case pulling). 

Requirements

 Education and Experience:

  • Operating room experience
  • Minimum of two (2) years of hospital main operating room experience desired.
  • Current Certification as a surgical technician 
  • Current Basic Life Saving certification 
  • Material Manager Experience and Life Safety preferred 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Demonstrates skill in appropriate use of instruments and equipment.
  • Effective communication skills; oral and written.  Demonstrates a positive, friendly and courteous manner.  
  • Critical thinking skills; ability to organize equipment, instruments, and supplies for cases according to patient needs and physician preference cards.  
  • Ability to adhere to the work schedule and manage time appropriately.
  • Bilingual, English and Spanish, preferred


Physical Requirements

  • Standing for long periods of time 
  • Requires using hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools or controls 
  • Requires repetitive movement
