We are looking for a Quality Engineer to join our Window Plant Wood and Coatings support team at Andersen’s Bayport, MN facility.  The primary focus of the Quality Engineer position will be to contribute to quality assurance department activities and quality control policy adherence for Bayport manufacturing processes. Other areas of focus include: develop standardized processes, drive continuous improvement, improve customer satisfaction, reduce waste, increase efficiency, audit, measure and monitor our production processes ensuring product conformance to specification.

 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Drive corrective action through root cause identification and structured problem solving. Perform root cause analysis to find sources of variation and process problems and use DMAIC tools to resolve them.

• Support the development of quality systems, programs, training tools, documents and standard operating procedures for critical to quality production processes ensuring consistent manufacturability.

• Preparation and execution of quality control plans, including the review of specifications, tolerances, capabilities and preparation of necessary supporting documentation and justification.

• Part Submission Warrant (PSW) requests and Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) submittals.

• Lead containment activities when reactive issues arise and ensure all customer issues (CAPA’s, etc.) are addressed, filed, and documented in a timely manner.

• Participate and lead regular touchpoint meetings with our internal and external customers to proactively address any questions or concerns on product as well as any proposed changes.
