Shifts Available and Hours: Day-Shift
Monday-Friday with Every other Weekend
12hr shifts
Job Summary:
The extrusion press leader will oversee press operation to include but not limited to safety, safety training, housekeeping, quality, career and performance counseling of the press crews and die/profile optimization.
Required Education/Experience:
- Minimum of one (1) year experience in extrusion setup and machine operation
- Must be able to understand and deliver basic commands in English
Preferred Skills/Qualifications:
- Bilingual in Spanish is preferred
- Effective/professional communication skills.
- Ability to use and navigate Microsoft outlook efficiently.
- Knowledge of operating/database systems; Oracle and SCS
- Proven leadership skills and ability to lead a larger team
Job Responsibilities:
- Hold daily meetings to review safety, production, and housekeeping issues with employees
- Conduct at least one Walk, Observe and Communication audit a week
- Update and maintain daily production board information at assigned press.
- Make recommendations to die/profile optimization to maximize production and minimize scrap
- Monitor operating supplies to ensure production needs are met and not interrupted
- Conduct monthly safety training
- Will manage audits and enforce safety policies and procedures
- Hold audits and enforce good housekeeping policies and procedures
- Cross-trains employees, to develop staff that can cover all positions when needed
