Shifts Available and Hours: Day-Shift 

                                                   Monday-Friday with Every other Weekend 

                                              12hr  shifts

Job Summary:

The extrusion press leader will oversee press operation to include but not limited to safety, safety training, housekeeping, quality, career and performance counseling of the press crews and die/profile optimization.

 

Required Education/Experience:

• Minimum of one (1) year experience in extrusion setup and machine operation
• Must be able to understand and deliver basic commands in English

 

Preferred Skills/Qualifications:

• Bilingual in Spanish is preferred
• Effective/professional communication skills.
• Ability to use and navigate Microsoft outlook efficiently.
• Knowledge of operating/database systems; Oracle and SCS
• Proven leadership skills and ability to lead a larger team

 

Job Responsibilities:

• Hold daily meetings to review safety, production, and housekeeping issues with employees
• Conduct at least one Walk, Observe and Communication audit a week  
• Update and maintain daily production board information at assigned press.
• Make recommendations to die/profile optimization to maximize production and minimize scrap
• Monitor operating supplies to ensure production needs are met and not interrupted
• Conduct monthly safety training
• Will manage audits and enforce safety policies and procedures
• Hold audits and enforce good housekeeping policies and procedures
• Cross-trains employees, to develop staff that can cover all positions when needed
