BHcare is seeking a compassionate and skilled Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) to provide psychiatric assessment, medication management, and integrated behavioral health support for adults living with serious mental illness and substance use disorders. This role is ideal for an APRN who is mission-driven, collaborative, and committed to helping clients achieve stability and improved quality of life.
What You'll Do:
Provide High-Quality Psychiatric Care
Conduct biopsychosocial evaluations and provide ongoing medication management following nationally recognized clinical guidelines.
Complete timely assessments, progress notes, and treatment documentation in alignment with BHcare policies.
Support Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) initiatives, including Suboxone induction and monitoring when applicable.
Collaborate Across the Care Team
Work closely with psychiatrists, nurses, and clinicians to ensure coordinated, high-quality care.
Participate in treatment planning, review/sign clinical evaluations and treatment plans, and contribute to improved performance standards.
Ensure Clinical & Regulatory Excellence
Utilize EHR platforms including CareLogic, electronic labs, and e-prescribing systems.
Complete physician emergency certificates when clinically indicated.

QualificationsMinimum Qualifications:
APRN and experience serving individuals with severe and prolonged mental illness and substance abuse is required. Minimum of two years of such experience highly preferred
Must have working knowledge of computer applications, and if applicable ability to navigate through electronic health record.
Licensure/Certifications:
CT Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) license required
ANCC certification as Mental Health/Psychiatric specialist highly preferred
DEA Controlled Substance License Required
CT DCP Controlled Substance Licensure required
The Drug Addiction Treatment Act of 2000 (Data 2000 Waiver) for Suboxone (preferred)
