Job Summary

CHOC is growing and we are gearing up for opportunities to hire per-diem EVS Aides to perform a variety of environmental service duties to maintain the hospital in a neat, orderly and sanitary condition.

Pay Range

Minimum $18.08 Midpoint $23.95 Maximum $29.81

Rate of pay is determined by various factors, including but not limited to knowledge, skills, competencies, experience, education, as well as position requirements.

At this time, we are only hiring per-diem (as needed) associates for our environmental services department.

We hire for the following shifts:
Days Per-diem (7am - 3:30pm) 
Evenings Per-diem (3:15pm - 11:45pm)
Nights Per-diem (11:30pm - 7am)

The EVS Aide cleans and services building areas, removes non-medical waste and medical waste according to established procedures. Answer the call, be part of an award-winning pediatric hospital. 

Experience

• Required: Previous customer service experience.

• Preferred: Six (6) months of housekeeping with floor care experience.

Education

• Required: High School Diploma, GED or two additional years of experience in lieu of education.

Training

• Required: None required.

Specialized Skills

• Required: Able to operate heavy floor machines. Ability to speak, read, write, and understand English effectively at a level appropriate for the safe and effective performance of the job. Attention to detail, vigilance, poise, and composure in stressful situations.

Licensure

• Required: None required.

Work Environments - Functional Demand:

Medium - High energy level Lift and carry 40-50 lbs. Push/pull +/- 150-200 lbs. (Patients on bed, stretcher) Lateral transfer 150-200 lbs. (ie. Patient) .
