Position Overview

As a Method & Procedures Advisor II (MPAII), you will have the distinct pleasure of being part of a diverse unit that is responsible for coordinating the development, review, and approval of standardized departmental policy, procedures, and forms. We are seeking individuals with a passion in reviewing policy, procedures, and forms and to revise same when necessary to ensure continued compliance with state and federal statutes and regulations. This position is responsible for addressing administrative, operational, and security issues, and maintains a permanent historical record of Departmental Rules, Administrative Directives, and forms. Essential Functions

  • Develops, reviews, revises administrative directives and departmental rules by working closely with supervisors, administrators, and executive staff.
  • Analyzes state, federal legislation, regulations, court decisions to determine impact on departmental procedures and rules.
  • Reviews and analyzes current department policies, procedures, and rules to ensure accuracy in relation to practices of department and compliance with state and federal laws, court orders and other agency rules.
  • Interprets procedures and rules.
  • Develops and revises forms in relations to procedures and rules.
  • Assists in development of statewide departmental training programs in relation to procedures and rules.
  • Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to completion of four (4) years college, with courses in public administration, accounting, industrial relations, prelegal or personnel management.
  • Requires two (2) years professional experience in public administration, business management, or accounting.

Preferred Qualification

  • Prefers extensive knowledge of management principles and techniques, including organization structures, staffing patterns and administrative controls.
  • Prefers at least two (2) years of professional experience developing administrative directives and departmental rules of an organization.
  • Prefers at least two (2) years of professional experience reviewing and revising administrative directives or rules of an organization.
  • Prefers at least two (2) years of professional experience interpreting policies and directives of an organization.

  • Prefers at least two (2) years of professional experience using computer software systems.<
