Summary

The IT Regional Support Analyst has overall responsibility for daily operational support relative to IT issues, technology, and projects for designated business units and their jobs.  The IT Regional Support Analyst may supervise others.
 

Roles and Responsibilities

The IT Regional Support Analyst will possess competency in the following areas in order to perform his/her role in a safe, productive, and effective manner.   • Works with Regional Support Manager and BCE Shared Services IT Staff to ensure proper deployment and utilization of standardized security procedures, workstation configurations, performance, version updates, system cleanup, data save & restore, and user disk allocations 
  • Interacts daily with the user-base at all levels of the company 
  • Ensures tier 1 I.T. support services operate at optimal levels, with excellent system response times
  • Assists with developing and executing plans relative to the operational goals of the business unit(s)
  • Evaluates software and hardware alternatives, with an emphasis on cost effectiveness by working with the Shared Services IT Staff  
  • Administers support policies and user guidelines
  • Optimizes operations with an emphasis on performance and cost reduction
  • Collaborates with Regional Support Manager and BCE Shared Services IT Staff to develop new technology solutions and system configurations as needed
  • Maximizes cost savings advantages through volume purchasing and product standardization using BCE’s Technical Support services
  • Assists with qualifying and managing service and product vendors, who provide for our mission-critical systems 
  • Analyzes operational procedures to determine existing deficiencies and recommend cost effective and reliable solutions, while maintaining consistent and comprehensive documentation  
  • Assists with preparing budget related projections for inclusion in annual budget calculations; performs to the budget guidelines as established by senior management
  • On call (for support and emergency response) 7 x 24 x 365
  • Participates in team meetings and internal product demonstrations

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline and a minimum of four (4) years’ experience designing, installing, maintaining, and testing networked systems or equivalent combination of education and experience 
  • Four years of experience in I.T. support operations in a large (de-centralized) user environment 
  • Industry certifications such as an with a technical knowledge of network protocols, operating systems, hardware, and data communications necessary to design, implement and maintain networked systems based on common industry technology
  • A+ Certification 
  • Familiarity in the design, administration, and use of standard help desk tools
  • Requires expert knowledge of networking protocols and server administration 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office functions including Word, Excel, and Outlook, knowledge of Cloud is a plus 
  • May be required to travel by airplane and automobile to various company or job sites and work independently to resolve system setup / connectivity issues
  • Must be detail oriented and analytical
  • Must possess strong customer service skills
