Are you ready to bring your skills to a team that transforms patient experiences? Join our Primary Care & Rural Medicine team and bring your expertise to support patients in our vibrant outpatient primary care clinic. As a Medical Assistant I, you'll be at the heart of patient care, performing essential tasks like measuring vital signs, recording patient medical histories, and administering immunizations or injections. Additionally, you will help maintain the cleanliness and safety of our exam and treatment rooms.
What you need to know
Salary: Starting at $15.85/hr.
Schedule: Full-time, 8am - 5pm Monday - Friday, with occasional extended hours
Requirements:
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience
Experience: Two years in a medical office, hospital, nursing home, or home health setting
Certification: Ability to obtain Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification within six months of employment
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience: Clinical setting experience
Certification: Medical Assistant Certification
Skills: Bilingual – English/Spanish
Some of the Responsibilities Include:
Patient Care: Provides patient care activities on a daily basis, transfers patients from reception to patient care areas, measures vital signs, interviews patients for medical records, assists and chaperones physician during exams or procedures, administers injections, dispenses medications, transfers specimens, documents testing and lab results in medical records, and documents other activities in the electronic medical records.
Clinic Responsibilities: Ensure cleanliness of exam and treatment rooms, exam tables, counter tops, and doorknobs to prevent spread of infection in patient care areas, stocks patient care rooms and nurses' stations weekly and as needed, participates in documentation of patient care, updates health information in electronic medical records, other duties as assigned.
