Machine Operator (2nd Shift)

Description
Summary/Objective
The Machine Operator receives instructions from the Plant Manager or Team Leader pertaining to the assignments and expectations for the day. The operator will have been trained on the machine or machines in the manufacturing area. The operator will be required to follow processes and procedures either posted or directed by management.
Essential Functions

· Operates cutting machines, threading machines, headers, benders and a variety of other manufacturing equipment.
· Assures their assignments are completed on time.
· Responsible for the quality check points on each machine as posted.
· Responsible for safety and housekeeping of their area.
· Fills out paperwork according to managers instructions.
· Uses forklifts to load and carry material.
Requirements
Competencies (Knowledge)
· Ability to follow instructions from management.
· Communication proficiency both verbal and written.
· Able to lift parts up to 75lbs.
· Can identify parts to be processed on their machine.
· Thoroughness.
· Time Management.
· Reading, writing and math skills are essential.
· Must follow safety rules and regulations.
Supervisory Responsibility
There is no supervisory responsibility in this position.
Work Environment
This position works in a manufacturing setting, with some outdoor exposure during the workday. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines, and standard warehouse equipment such as forklift, hand tools, electric tools, and trucks. This position works both inside the plant and outside as required.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; and stoop or kneel. The employee is occasionally required to sit and climb or balance. The employee must regularly lift and/or move objects up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move objects up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move objects that weigh 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Thursday, 4:00 P.m. to 2:30 a.m. with overtime required as dictated by the workload.

There is no travel required for this position.

High school diploma
Forklift Certification
Preferred Education and Experience
