Description

The Department of Philosophy of New York University (http://as.nyu.edu/philosophy.html) invites applications for a position as Visiting Lecturer, to begin September 1, 2025, pending administrative and budgetary approval. This is a one-year, non-renewable appointment. The area of specialization is open but candidates must have an undergraduate teaching competence in philosophy of mind.

Responsibilities include teaching three undergraduate courses: one in the fall and two in the spring.

For a candidate to be eligible, the Ph.D. must be received no later than August 31, 2025. Applications should include a CV, a writing sample, a research statement, a teaching statement, evidence of teaching ability, and at least three references.

Pay Transparency: In compliance with NYC’s Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary for this position is $60,000. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate’s work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as market and organizational considerations when extending an offer.
