Job Description
Core BTS seeks an experienced technology leader, who will function as an advisor to school district administrators and technology staff in school districts throughout NY. This leader is responsible for the planning, organizing, directing, supervising and evaluating the acquisition and application of technology in support of all District activities; development and implementation of a strategic vision for the use of technology in the district in both the academic and infrastructure systems, including advising on the District’s technology master plan; consulting with administration in staff development; provide training and technical guidance in software, educational technology and use of systems; assisting in the development of the District’s technology budget and pursuing alternative funding sources. The advisor also works with other district-level administrators to ensure that their technology systems and needs are being addressed and supported. This is a hands-on position with responsibilities that range from strategic and long-range planning and implementation of systemwide technology solutions, to providing one-on-one support to administrators and staff.
Qualifications
- Advanced Degree in Educational Technology, STEM, or related field preferred.
- Experience in a K-12 environments highly desired.
- Working knowledge with a range of software, hardware, and operating systems as it relates to infrastructure, collaboration technology, mobile devices, and security.
- Proven record of accomplishment in technology planning and technology personnel management, ideally integrating technology in a K-12 academic setting.
- Experience preparing and managing budgets and working with vendors to best meet the needs of the client.
- Track record of effective project management, strong verbal and written communication skills, and supervision and mentoring of technical staff to high performance.
