Description
The Sr. Transportation Analyst is responsible for the data processing in the Transportation department related to freight costs for Inbound & Outbound shipments through oversight of all Access database functions in the department. The Sr. Analyst will validate and provide all RFQ and AMOS data by gathering and analyzing shipment history and freight costs of approximately $100 million annually. This position will manage carrier and vendor RFQ/RFP specifications and processes. Through weekly and monthly reporting, the Sr. Analyst will audit and report the expense of international and domestic transportation versus budgeted amounts, and make recommendations for cost savings/reductions. Transportation expenses will be maintained via data obtained from web reporting and query data to explain cost trends. This position will administer, communicate and prepare MPA Freight Payment expense reporting for MHQ and executive management, including narrative analysis comparing performance to objectives. Service transit times reported from carrier websites will be monitored, along with improvement opportunities provided to department managers. The Sr. Analyst will be the Subject Matter Expert (SME) on Access database processes and will provide training and guidance to other team members, as needed. Heavy involvement in special projects, including presentations/decks, relating to cost studies will be required/performed, as management needs. The Sr. Logistics Analyst is expected to operate within the policies and procedures established by the Transportation Department and to adhere to generally accepted business practices. The Sr. Transportation Analyst is expected to identify and resolve issues arising within the areas of responsibility with minimum supervision. (KPIs: Maintain and create transportation databases weekly, and as needed; Provide analysis of all inbound and outbound freight expenses weekly/monthly; Review and report department freight spend trends against Department objectives weekly/monthly; Carlisle Subject Matter Expert (SME) – manage/produce department data annually, or as requested for industry benchmarking purposes.)
