Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent related work or military experience
- 4 years of hands-on experience working on large-scale optimization problems (mathematical programming, metaheuristics, etc.).Strong analytical/reasoning skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate information with attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong programming fundamentals in both object-oriented and functional languages.
- Solid understanding of algorithms and data structures.
- Demonstrated ability to frame complex problems, select appropriate research/analytical methods, implement solutions, and present findings effectively.
- Excellent analytical and reasoning skills with the ability to collect, organize, and interpret data accurately.
- Interest or willingness to learn the Less-Than-Truckload industry and apply advanced analytics to support strategic, tactical, and operational decisions.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
Preferred qualifications:
- MS in Operations Research, Industrial Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- PhD in Operations Research, Industrial Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- Proficiency in an object-oriented language like Java, C++, C# is a strong plus; together with exposure to SQL and Python (especially Pandas).
- Familiarity with optimization solvers (e.g., CPLEX, Gurobi, FICO Xpress).
- Experience with relational databases, cloud-computing environments, ETL processes, and reporting/BI tools.
- Strong theoretical and practical background in optimization, including network flow/graph algorithms and metaheuristic approaches to combinatorial problems.
- Outstanding verbal and written communication; ability to distill technical details into clear, concise messages tailored to your audience.
- Capable of multitasking, prioritizing, and meeting deadlines with minimal supervision, while seeking guidance when needed.
