Description
Team Overview:The Fabrication department is responsible for the off-site manufacturing of bespoke mechanical and electrical systems, including prefabricated plant rooms, skids, and modular assemblies. Operating from our dedicated fabrication facility, the team ensures high-quality workmanship, precision, and compliance with project specifications. By delivering preassembled solutions, the department helps reduce installation time, improve safety on-site, and maintain consistent quality — all while supporting efficient project delivery and innovation in modular construction.
Role Overview: As Senior General Operative (First Ops – dayshift), you'll be based in the fabrication area and oversee First Operations (cutting, mechanical prep & kitting) and play a key role in supporting fabrication operations. You will report to the Team Leaders but also work closely with the Site Supervisor and Production Coordinator.

What You'll be Doing
This role involves operating and training others on bandsaws, bevelling machines, grinders, and other material preparation tools, while leading First Operations activities and ensuring accurate material checks, processing, and kit completion for fabrication. It requires measuring and calculating dimensions for cutting lists, maintaining records and system updates, and working closely with team leaders and fabrication staff to keep production running efficiently. The position includes strict adherence to health and safety procedures, reporting faults and incidents, maintaining a safe workspace, and ensuring only authorised personnel operate equipment. It also focuses on training and development, sharing knowledge, delivering job-specific training, and supporting quality standards by resolving defects in collaboration with the Quality team. Additionally, the role supports project velocity by monitoring priorities, ensuring timely material flow, addressing delays, and contributing to cost reduction through efficient use of time and resources.Apply for this role
