Position Summary:
At SoundExchange, we have re-architected and rebuilt our core enterprise software platform to support our rapidly growing and evolving business. Our software platform is a set of cloud-native, federated systems that are highly scalable, accurate, and modular, leveraging both custom-built and 3rd party components. We are seeking a Sr. Quality Assurance Analyst to become a member of our growing QA team for the SoundExchange products and platform. This person will be an experienced tester with a proven track record of supporting multiple simultaneous products and is very passionate about quality deliverables.
As a member of the Technology Department, this role will work closely with Engineering and Product teams. The success of this role depends on strong communication skills, high levels of collaboration, and constant communication with stakeholders. The ideal candidate for this role will have a deep understanding of QA best practices and processes, a technical background, ability to understand business flows and data, and excellent interpersonal skills. This individual will be experienced in overseeing testing for complex deliverables and implementing QA best practices on their team. In this role, you will work closely with technical leadership, engineering, and product owners to assess, recommend, and implement a testing approach that covers manual and automated testing.
Essential Functions:
- Build a repository of manual and automated test cases and ensure the completeness of the repository for a given portfolio.
- Analyze requirements and provide feedback on completeness and testability. Be able to create test data based off requirements as needed. Peer review the test cases and test plans of other testers to ensure readiness for QA to begin.
- Provide accurate estimates for QA efforts including test case design/scripting, test execution, and defect correction.
- Develop test artifacts for integration, functional, end to end, acceptance, performance, smoke, and regression testing.
- Review test artifacts generated during test cycles to ensure that testing is complete and the initiative is ready for the next phase.
- Maintain an understanding of how the system currently functions and be able to communicate that behavior to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Mentor less experienced testers on testing best practices and system functionality.
- Execute test cases and report test results to the scrum teams and department leadership.
- Develop automated test scripts that can be run on a recurring basis.
- Assist with building and maintaining test environments and driving their best use.
Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities (KSAs):
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally and effectively with a diverse group of stakeholders.
- Proven ability to manage and contribute to multiple initiatives simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated experience developing, analyzing, and communicating test metrics, quality indicators, and status reporting to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Experience leading and mentoring QA testers, including task direction, review of work, and knowledge sharing.
- Experience working within Agile software development methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, or similar).
