The Assistant Director of Admissions & Group Visits/Special Populations Coordinator works closely in collaboration with the Student Experience Team and the Director of Admissions, Recruitment and Access to create programming that serves in recruitment of historically underserved This position coordinates visit programs to special populations by coordinating small group visits to campus for non-profit organizations or high schools and managing all aspects of other programming initiatives that satisfy the goals of the Director of Admissions, Prospective Student Experience and the Director of Admissions, Recruitment and Access. They will organize, anticipate, and arrange all necessary details associated with programming including but not limited to working with a wide range of campus personnel regarding any and all organizational details (room reservations, food reservations, parking, IT, mail, email confirmation and registration set-up etc.). This position will also include student supervision and training in collaboration with the Admissions Manager, On Campus and Virtual Platform. Will contribute to office functioning—planning, operational support, and other liaison duties as assigned. Additionally manages assigned territory to include reviewing applications from schools within that area as well as representing the university at high school visits and college nights, panel discussions, virtual programming, or other recruitment efforts.

Duties/Responsibilities

Primary responsibility will be to independently organize, anticipate and coordinate all necessary details associated with visit programs geared towards generating applications and encouraging yield for special populations. Additional tasks include:

  • Responsible for creating program agenda, speaking points, inviting panelists and speakers, creating participant survey, creating staff assignments, and any other necessary components for the program. Will be responsible for leading the program on the day of or ensuring adequate coverage and training is in place for the program to effectively run.

  • Work with the Student Engagement team to develop a communication plan for each event to provide website, email content and edits as well as any additional coordination necessary to effectively market the programs. Will independently manage all aspects of these efforts to ensure content is delivered in a timely manner.

  • Work with the Admissions Manager, On Campus and Virtual Platform to provide program specific information sufficient to build all aspects of the registration process including descriptions, form questions, event registration related emails and more. They will also be responsible for providing the Admissions Manager with any logistics needs such as room, catering, parking, signage.

  • Work to provide the Admissions Manager, Campus Visit Programs with date, time, and details for any programs that require student ambassador involvement or help.· Provide leadership and direction for student worker and/or staff that are assigned to help with program planning (pre-event, during, or post-event).

  • Maintain accurate documentation on the planning process for each event including survey results for participants polled, agenda drafts, staff assignments, and any data analysis used to justify changes to program.

  • Routinely pull and analyze event data to inform changes and to report to Director of Admissions, Prospective Student Experience as well as the Director of Admissions, Recruitment and Access at least twice a year.

  • Identifies dates, time, goals, agenda outline and panelist needs for each semester with enough notice to secure logistics at least one or two semesters prior to event occurring to share with appropriate constituents including the Admissions Manager, On Campus and Virtual Platform, the Director of Admissions, Prospective Student Experience, and the Director of Admissions, Recruitment and Access for confirmation before adding it to the overall Student Experience agenda for the year. Examples of programming this position coordinates to include, but not limited to small group visits to UNH campus from high schools and/or non-profit organizations and large visit days for special populations. Routinely staffs Admissions programs including evening and weekend commitments. Assists with daily Admissions visitors as officer of the day or other duties as assigned.
