Overview of this Position:
The Maintenance Support Specialist has the primary responsibility to establish and maintain a maintenance spare parts system, set up and manage storage location(s), track and control inventory levels, create bill of materials (BOM) associated with assets in the CMMS system. This role will provide general maintenance support through planning and scheduling, data entry and management within the CMMS system, and issuance of purchase orders for parts and services as needed by the maintenance team.
Non-Negotiable Requirements:
- Possess associate degree in engineering or technical discipline and 1+year work experience in an FDA regulated environment, or equivalent/strong work history in directly relevant experience.
- Inventory control, stocking, storeroom experience.
- CMMS experience.
- Must have proficient computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
Responsibilities Include (but are not limited to):
- Oversee Facilities Engineering & Maintenance inventory and work with supply chain management according to company guidelines to ensure parts and supplies are available when needed.
- Maintain updated and accurate records of inventory on eMaint, including transfers and cycle counts.
- Develop and implement improvements to existing operational procedures to maximize efficiency and cut operations costs.
- Review maintenance schedules and production requirements to ensure timely completion fulfillment.
- Collaborate with maintenance manager and operations to ensure optimum productivity and timely completion of work orders.
- Create and implement integrated systems for carrying out work scheduling processes, such as time availability and inventory control, human work factors, and cost analysis, logistics and material flow, and production coordination.
- Ensure the availability of asset and maintenance data to perform the work scheduled.
- Assign and coordinate maintenance process improvement with manufacturing sites.
- Cultivate systems that ensure that maintenance schedules align with production schedules.
- Provide initiatives for continuous production and engineering improvements.
- Collect information from completed tasks and properly document to close out work orders.
- Obtain and schedule the necessary contractors, service providers, tools, and supplies.
- Write, manage, and track work orders throughout their lifecycle.
- Schedule Preventive Maintenance (PM) in eMaint as well as corrective and emergency work orders.
- Write and edit engineering and maintenance SOPs and standards.
