Anderson School - Licensed Private School (Department of Education & Care)
The Anderson School, our oldest program located in Andover is looking for caring and dedicated Classroom RN – Substitutes. The school’s program supports students ages 3-12 with multiple disabilities, moderate to severe developmental delays,and complex medical needs.
The Job
The Classroom RN - Substitute will work on a day-to-day basis and is scheduled as the need arises to cover days normally worked by another nurse. The school is open Monday-Friday from 8:00 am – 3:00 pm M-F and follows a school calendar, including holidays and closing periods.
The Classroom RN - Substitute provides comprehensive educational and therapeutic nursing care and support for students ages 3-12 with multiple disabilities, moderate to severe developmental delays, and complex medical needs. Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to G-tube feeding, suctioning, medication and oxygen administration, on-going monitoring of health and medical status of the student and can respond in the event of a medical emergency during work hours. This position works closely with parents/guardians, and a team of experienced, caring, dedicated staff including a Special Education teacher, teaching assistants, nurses and other therapists all sharing a passion for working with students with special needs.
Requirements
- R.N. degree with a current MA license
- Pediatric nursing experience with complex special needs children 3-12 years of age is required.
- Specialized knowledge of young children with moderate to severe developmental delays and complex medical needs is highly desired.
- Experience working in an education setting is also a plus.
- Must be able to sit, bend, kneel and lift 25 – 50 lbs.
- All staff are required to pass a fingerprint and criminal background checks.
