We are excited to offer a newly created opportunity for a Vice President, Field Operations.
The Vice President of Field Operations is responsible for the overall leadership, strategy, and execution of all field operations activities related to Fiber to the Home (FTTP) services. This includes overseeing the installation, maintenance, and repair teams to ensure high-quality service delivery and customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of fiber optic technology, extensive experience in managing large field teams, and a strong ability to drive operational efficiencies.
Requirements and Responsibilities
- Develops and implements operational strategies aligned with business goals.
- Leads and manages field operations, including installation & maintenance (I&M). Responsible for the oversight of I&M vendors responsible for the daily I&M schedule, quality, and productivity.
- Ensures efficient, quality and on-time service delivery of FTTP service.
- Monitors work production and quality, ensuring that all installs and repairs meet required specifications and that all safety and Company procedures are followed.
- Coordinates I&M workforce with Project Management to ensure adequate technical resources are available to satisfy project scheduling requirements. Adheres to the service level agreements with anchor tenant.
- Monitors KPIs including service efficiency, customer satisfaction, operational cost management, safety compliance, inventory management and regulatory compliance. Identifies areas of opportunity and coaches for improved performance and productivity.
- Serves as a key point of contact for contractors, vendors, and external stakeholders involved in FTTP projects.
- Partners closely with the Chief Technology Officer to ensure close collaboration and cohesive operations between the Network Operations Center and field technicians.
- Manages the operational budget, ensuring efficient resource allocation and cost control.
- Develops & implements strategies to improve customer satisfaction and loyalty.
- Maintains adherence to industry regulations and compliance standards.
- Identifies and implements new technologies and processes to improve operational efficiency and service quality.
- Ensures training is being conducted for I&M Technicians for all maintenance and installation activities, ensuring proper work methods, quality and safety standards and equipment usage. Promotes a strong safety culture, ensuring all team members and vendors adhere to safety protocols and standards.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business administration or a related field (MBA preferred).
- 10-15 years of experience in telecommunications operations with a proven track record in leadership roles, particularly in FTTP installation and repair.
- Strong understanding of telecom industry, fiber optic technology and FTTP industry standards; excellent communication, team leadership, interpersonal and problem-solving skills; strategic thinking and strong analytical capabilities with a focus on operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.
- Familiarity with field service management platforms.
- Financial acumen with experience managing budgets and operational costs.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience in process improvement and change management.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
