Responsibilities and Tasks

As a Global Quality (GQ) Customer Quality Principal Engineer (CQE) at Micron Technology, Inc., you will:

  • Serve as the single point of contact for customers regarding quality issues.
  • Manage an experienced team to support key customers effectively.
  • Drive both proactive and reactive quality-related communications.
  • Address and resolve Returned Material Authorizations (RMAs), quality issues, and customer requests promptly.
  • Collaborate with internal functions to implement robust preventive actions, ensuring no recurrence of issues.
  • Act as the key communication channel for proactive quality initiatives.
  • Work closely with customers to determine their key concerns and address them effectively.
  • Actively assess customer happiness metrics and anticipate projected QBR scores.
  • Aim to achieve the #1 position in Customer Quality Ranking.
  • Host Monthly Quality Reviews (MQRs) and share proactive Quality Health Assessments of customer products.

Customer Support and Internal Loops

  • Champion the “voice of customers” on quality within Micron.
  • Communicate customer feedback proactively to relevant Micron functions.
  • Coordinate and facilitate customer audits.
  • Conduct training sessions at customer sites to ensure quality standards are met.

Required Education & Experience

  • Master’s degree in Engineering – Electrical, Electronics, Physics Engineering, or related fields.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in the semiconductor field.
  • You should have at least 3 years of experience in Quality and/or Customer Applications/Systems, preferably in qualification, production, or product/system engineering for memories.
  • Proven experience in managing automotive quality requirements in an international environment.

  • Office-based in San Jose.
  • Travel Required: Yes (within US and International, estimated frequency 2-3 times a year).

The US base salary range that Micron Technology estimates it could pay for this full-time position is:

$170,000.00 - $288,500.00

Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location.  The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries of the position across all US locations.  Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional job-related factors, including knowledge, skills, experience, tenure and relevant education or training.  The pay scale is subject to change depending on business needs.  Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process. Additional compensation may include benefits, discretionary bonuses and equity.
