Department Summary:
The Center for Childhood Liver Disease specializes in helping infants, children, adolescents, and young adults who have a wide variety of liver, gallbladder, and bile-duct disorders, as well as liver tumors and masses. Children with liver disease come to us from all over the world because of our extensive experience, dedication, and commitment to finding solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
-The nurse will function in the Center for Childhood Liver Disease (CCLD) and will also provide clinical care to core GI patient population including management of enteral tubes.
-Provides clinical care to patients with both acute and chronic liver disease.
-Works with director of CCLD and other members of the liver team in program development including development of patient management protocols, coordination of new patient referrals, development of patient education materials, and clinical research.
-Interacts with liver transplant coordinators for care coordination.
-Provides patient education, assessment, and phone triage/EPIC in-basket management for liver and general GI patients.
-Acts as a clinical resource. Other responsibilities include communications with patients, families, and health care providers.
-Will see patients at both Longwood and Needham campuses 4 days, T-Fr, 730a-6p.
Minimum qualifications:
Education:
BSN
Experience:
2 years pediatric nursing experience preferred.
Liver disease/GI experience preferred.
License/Certifications:
MA RN License
