Sr. Associate, Commercial Bank Accounting

We are seeking a highly motivated professional to join the Commercial Bank Accounting team as a Senior Associate focusing on accounting, financial analysis and automation improvements. We are looking for a new team member who has strong analytical, problem solving and organizational skills. The team member should also possess strong written and verbal communication skills. The team member would be a self-starter responsible for managing multiple priorities and meeting deadlines in a fast-paced, time sensitive environment. This person should have a passion for improvement and finding solutions in coordination with business partners.

• Perform monthly analysis and reporting of financial performance for management and key stakeholders with time sensitive deadlines

• Support and prepare external SEC and regulatory reports, including documentation and presentation of results to management and senior leadership

• Ensure accounting and reporting practices and documentation are performed in accordance with corporate policies and procedures

• Respond to requests from Finance and key business partners, associates throughout the Controllers group, Operation teams, and external and internal auditors

• Owns automation efforts of team’s processes to help drive efficiencies, enhanced controls, and/or improved accuracy and quality of deliverables. 

• Participate in change initiatives and ad hoc projects to support team-level and enterprise-wide initiatives

• Serve as point of contact for Commercial accounting teams and other business partners

• Provide ad hoc analysis to management

• Provide support for audit, risk and compliance groups when necessary

• Leads change initiatives by supporting line of business efforts and enterprise initiatives

 

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelors’ degree or military experience  

• At least 1 year of experience in accounting, external financial reporting, audit or finance, or a combination

• At least 1 year of experience with Google Office or Microsoft Office products, or a combination

Preferred Qualifications:

• 2+ years of experience in accounting, external financial reporting, audit or finance, or a combination

• 2+ years of experience with Google Office or Microsoft Office products, or a combination

• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license

• Experience in the Financial Services industry or public accounting

• Experience with Tableau, Google Looker, SQL, Python, Snowflake, or OneStream

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.

McLean, VA: $94,600 - $107,900 for Sr. Associate, Accounting

 

Richmond, VA: $86,000 - $98,200 for Sr. Associate, Accounting

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate’s offer letter.

This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
