About the role

POSITION SUMMARY

The role is responsible for the accounting operations and activities including month-end close, accounting systems, projects and human resources for the US reporting group.

The role is responsible for general accounting judgments with regard to application of accounting principles and policies, and external/internal audit support.

The role is responsible for recording and management of accounting records and a comprehensive set of controls designed to mitigate risks.

JOB RESPONSIBLITIES

  • Supervise and manage all accounting and information systems, personnel and Manage the team structure to effectively plan and execute activities to drive continuous improvement.
  • Enhance, implement and enforce policies and procedures of the organization to effectively manage risk and comply with Parent Company’s regulations and professional standards
  • Manage and measure employee performance though individual and group action plans, develop direct reports and others.
  • Provide support to leadership in driving strategic financial initiatives.
  • Understand and meet internal/external and all regulatory reporting requirements.
  • Manage the accounting functions including General Ledger, Fixed Assets, Treasury, Debt, and organization wide financial close process for the US Group.
  • Manage accounting transaction processing and help identify areas of opportunity to realize time savings, process simplification or expense reduction: develop and implement solutions to realize benefits.
  • Calculate on a monthly basis, the required transfer pricing adjustments to comply with the company policies related to the covered functions.
  • Assist internal and external audits by providing necessary support and required documents and information.
  • Assist in designing sufficient internal controls to mitigate various risks. Monitor execution of internal controls by direct reports to ensure compliance with company’s policies and procedures
  • Identify opportunities for operational process improvements and activities optimization.
  • Ensure compliance with employment law, work security/safety rules, and company policy.
  • Organize, prioritize and control job responsibilities in order to meet deadlines in an environment with overlapping and potentially conflicting priorities
  • Exercise diligence and maintain professional skepticism when performing and overseeing the activities and processes under his/ her responsibility, including but not limited to: (I) maintaining focus on attention to the accuracy and validity of data; (II) requesting additional documents when necessary in order to support these analyses; (III) identifying, communicating, escalating and assisting with the resolution of potential "red flags", and/or issues related to compliance with the Company's policies and procedures.
  • Act as accounting reviewer focal point for any system upgrades/conversions. Planning and validation of unit/integrated testing related to system conversions.

ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Education:

  • Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance or related field required
  • Accounting MBA or CPA preferred
  • Masters in Accounting preferred

Experience:

  • Generally 6-10 years of relevant accounting experience.
  • Public accounting experience preferred.
  • Must have thorough working knowledge/experience in technical and operational procedures related to general ledger accounting, treasury, debt, fixed assets and month-end closing.
  • Supervision of personnel required.
  • Strong manufacturing experience with inventory or warehouse environment required.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Strong knowledge of accounting transactions and Generally Accepted Accounting Principals.
  • Expert knowledge of ERP systems: SAP, Quantum, Deltek CostPoint and CAS experience.
  • Expert spreadsheet skills.
  • Strong computer skills in Microsoft office (Word, Excel, and Power Point, Outlook),
  • People management skills (HR guidelines, tools & policies).
  • Familiarization with employment law (sexual harassment, disability, discrimination, labor laws, etc.).
  • Extreme flexibility, with a strong work ethic and spirit to accommodate a high level of responsibility and multiple priorities
