Senior Manager Cloud Platform Engineering

POSITION SUMMARY: The Senior Manager, Cloud Platform Engineering will own and manage our public cloud platform across AWS, Azure, GCP, and Oracle. The incumbent will be responsible for establishing and maintaining cloud standards, architecting solutions, implementing FinOps practices, supporting DevOps teams, aligning technology roadmaps with strategic objectives, and ensuring robust security measures across our infrastructure landscape.

PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Manage the public cloud platform, including the development and enforcement of standards, best practices, and governance policies across AWS, Azure, GCP, and Oracle cloud environments.

• Implement and maintain FinOps practices to optimize cloud spending and resource utilization across all platforms.

• Provide strategic guidance and support to DevOps teams, ensuring seamless integration of infrastructure with development processes.

• Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for infrastructure performance, availability, and cost-effectiveness.

• Architect and design scalable, secure, and cost-effective cloud solutions that meet business requirements and align with industry best practices.

• Develop and enforce security standards and best practices across all cloud platforms, ensuring compliance with industry regulations.

• Align infrastructure roadmaps with overall organizational strategic objectives, driving innovation and continuous improvement.

• Coaches and develops a team of professionals to assist in their development and attainment of necessary skills to lift performance. Monitors staff performance and drives performance improvement initiatives and ensures that service levels meet or exceed agreed upon standards.

• Manage vendor relationships and contracts related to cloud services and infrastructure tools.

• Prepare and present regular reports to senior management on infrastructure performance, projects, and strategic initiatives.

• Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends, evaluating their potential impact on the organization's infrastructure strategy.

• Other non-essential duties as assigned or may be necessary

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Extensive experience with cloud platforms, particularly AWS and Azure, with working knowledge of GCP and Oracle Cloud.

• Strong understanding of FinOps principles and experience implementing cost optimization strategies in multi-cloud environments.

• In-depth knowledge of DevOps practices and experience supporting development teams in cloud environments.

• Experience in developing and implementing infrastructure security policies and best practices.

• Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or ARM templates.

• Familiarity with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) and serverless architectures.

• Understanding of networking concepts and experience with cloud networking services.

• Ability to drive operational excellence in a complex, multi-cloud environment.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

• 7 - 10 years of experience in Infrastructure engineering or cloud platform management roles.

• Minimum of 5 years of supervisory or management experience.
