About the role
As the Software Engineer, you will work alongside an Engineering Team Lead and the wider Product team locally and remotely to shape the development of the ScriptRunner for Confluence on-premise product. You will also contribute to apps that help 20 million people around the world using the Atlassian tools to make better software. In this role, you will be managing the balance of your individual contributions and supporting your team in delivery. Additionally, as an engineer on the team, the role will be responsible for facilitating solution design, building on the knowledge and skills in the team as well as reaching out to other engineering teams for input.

About the role

What you'll be doing
- Deliver updates to key stakeholders like the product owner
- Divide work with peers
- Help unblock colleagues
- Designing, writing and testing solutions
- Complex, collaborative problem solving
- Taking and acting on feedback from peers and senior engineers
- Performing code peer reviews
- Writing automated tests at unit, integration, and functional levels
- Manage code quality within the team
- Troubleshooting builds and deployments
- Handling and owning support escalations
What we're looking for
- Software development skills in either Java/Groovy technologies and some of our preferred frontend technologies (JavaScript/TypeScript/React)
- Attitude of continual learning
- Experience working across the full development stack
A few nice to haves
- Experience of Agile Methodologies
- Knowledge of implementing and running CI / CD
- Atlassian Ecosystem experience
- OSGi
- React JS and Typescript
- Any kind of plugin development experience
- Desire to help and inspire colleagues
