Agile Project Manager

Tenaska is one of the largest privately held companies in the United States, an organization that’s adept in natural gas and power marketing, power management, development and acquisition of generation assets, operation of power plants and more.

Essential Job Functions:

• Provide Agile coaching to the entire organization to facilitate Agile transformation.
• Define and manage a well-defined project management process and champion ongoing process improvement initiatives to implement best practices for Agile Project Management.
• Guide and coach delivery teams and the organization on using Agile/Scrum practices.
• Facilitate Agile/Scrum ceremonies including refinement, sprint planning, daily scrum, sprint review/demos, and retrospectives.
• Work with Product Owners, Business Analysts and delivery teams to facilitate effective sprints by removing impediments.
• Where warranted, manage traditional projects
• Track and communicate various metrics per team or project including the commitment to delivery ratio, velocity, and sprint burndown.
• Serve as administrator of our work prioritization and management system.
• Promote empowerment of the team, ensuring that each team member is fully engaged in the project and making a meaningful contribution, and encouraging a sustainable pace with high levels of quality for the team.
• Cultivate an environment of continuous learning and innovative thinking.
• Dependable, reliable, and predictable attendance is required.

Education, Experience, Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, management information systems or related field.
• Proven experience in a similar role, preferably within the same industry.
• Strong knowledge of Agile best practices and Scrum framework – CSM certification or similar a plus.
• Excellent leadership and team management skills.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to think strategically.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proactive approach toward seeking out and solving challenging problems.
• Strong work ethic, organized, disciplined, team attitude.

Preferred Experience:

• 5+ years of experience in roles such as Program Manager, Agile Coach, Scrum Master, Product Owner, Project Manager, Product Manager, or Business analyst preferred (certifications optional, but beneficial).
• Familiarity with Atlassian products like Jira Cloud, Confluence, Jira Service Management, and Jira Product Discovery is a plus.
• Familiarity with the energy/power domain is beneficial.
