Revenue Cycle Medical Biller (Anesthesia)

Ambulatory Anesthesia Care is seeking to hire a dedicated full-time remote revenue cycle team member who thrives in the dynamic pace of the revenue cycle, particularly as a biller, and values teamwork. The position is available starting February 28, 2024.

About AAC: We're a dynamic practice management organization supporting Ambulatory Surgery Centers and Office-Based Anesthesiology practices across Illinois, Texas, Washington, and Oregon. 

Responsibilities: As a key team member, your primary duties will include:

• Ensuring accurate updates of demographic and insurance information in the billing system, along with verifying insurance eligibility
• Cross-coding surgeon's CPT codes to the appropriate anesthesia CPT codes
• Reviewing medical records to ensure precise billing of medications and additional supplies
• Billing macro/explosion codes for each facility to accurately capture standard medications, supplies, and equipment used
• Candidates must be detail-oriented, comfortable with timely communication with surgeons' offices, or accessing EMRs to obtain missing information, ensuring charges are entered and billed within 5 business days from the date of service.

Qualifications: To be considered for this role, candidates should possess:

• 1-2 years of experience in medical billing, preferably in anesthesia or surgical specialties
• Previous experience working from home or within a remote/hybrid environment
• Comfort with technology, including proficiency in various software applications and online payer portals
• Office 365 and Excel experience is a plus
• Willingness to engage in phone communication with payers and escalate calls to senior representatives when necessary

Working Hours: This position requires availability during CST operating hours, preferably 8 am ET – 4:30 pm CST. AAC will provide the selected candidate with a laptop and necessary IT supplies for secure remote work.
