WHAT YOU BRING

  • Bachelor’s degree, plus minimum 4 years of experience in fundraising in a nonprofit setting with a track record of professional growth.
  • Minimum three (3) years of proficiency with donor management or CRM platforms/software; Salesforce experience highly desired
  • Valid driver's license and/or access to alternative means of transportation.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Under the direction of the Vice President (VP), Development, the Development Officer for Individual Giving is responsible for the strategy, cultivation, solicitation, and managing relationships with potential and existing donors to secure financial support with individuals giving $500 to $9,999 from a portfolio of donors and prospects in Los Angeles and Orange counties. Leading campaigns and other fundraising efforts to secure and expand donor capacity, engagement and philanthropy, and build a strong pipeline of future major donors. This role will also support and manage fundraising efforts from our Pro Bono Advisory Council (PBAC). 

 

Your day-to-day responsibilities 

 

75% Donor Relationships  

  • Develops, implements, and executes strategies for a portfolio of donors and prospects with planned touchpoints, prompt acknowledgement, timely solicitation with a premium placed on donor retention, increased giving, and identification of major gift donor prospects. 
  • Works with VP, Development to develop and achieve revenue goals associated with portfolio as well as forecasting. 
  • Manages relationships with portfolio of current and prospective individual donors in Los Angeles and Orange counties using multiple channels, including phone calls, email, letters and notes, special invitations, follow up on survey responses, social media, and video and/or face-to-face meetings while also engaging donors through consistent stewardship and active cultivation to increase support, achieve fundraising revenue goals, and enhance donor experience. 
  • Manages Pro Bono Advisory Council (PBAC) relationships as part of portfolio. 
  • Develops, implements, and executes personalized digital engagement and marketing strategies tailored to a mid-level donor audience.
