Salary Range: $126,315 - $156,036/yr, plus Bonus

Location: Ada, MI (Hybrid)

*You must be able to report to the Ada, MI headquarters at least 3x per week

 

What do we need:

We are seeking an experienced Research Scientist to lead our product formulation activities for new product launches, specializing in probiotics. The delivery formats you will be working with are tablets, capsules, and powders.

As a formulator, you will lead product development from discovery to production, focusing on probiotics and personalized nutrition. Acting as a Subject Matter Expert (SME), you'll contribute to Idea-to-Market (ITM) teams, delivering expert presentations, interviews, and insights. You'll spend 40% of your time in the lab and 60% on activities like ingredient research, technology mining, concept creation, testing, validation, and collaborating with process and packaging engineers to ensure successful scale-up.

 

Additionally, you will work closely with internal cross functional partners and will collaborate with external partners to co-develop or outsource new technologies.  Your passion will drive the vision for the product and will engage our Marketing team and internal partners on how to promote product benefits and attributes to ABOs around the globe. 

 

Your ability to develop innovative new products will continue to evolve our strong reputation for quality and performance in all areas of what we do in support of the Nutrilite Brand and our product portfolio.  This role can offer a strong platform to spotlight your talent on a global scale!

 

There will be international travel in this role.

 

Required qualifications:

• BS, MS, or PhD in Chemistry, Food Science, or related Science or Engineering discipline
• A combination of education and experience creating products that align to one of the following:
  • Bachelors Degree and 8+ years of experience
  • Masters Degree and 6+ years of experience
  • PhD and 3+ years of experience
• Strong experience applying the science and benefits of probiotics and other healthy ingredients to consumable product applications
• Demonstrated formulation experience in design, development, discovery, and delivery with an eye on sensory aspects of the product experience (taste, aesthetics)
• Experience in identifying and leading innovation (technology development) that make a difference to the business
• Product development industry experience in developing nutritional deliveries including standard beverages, food, capsules, tablets as well as unique formats that are on-trend
