Job Description
We are looking for a Sr Associate Scientist in our Foster City, CA location.
Specific Job Responsibilities:
- Routinely performs physical and chemical characterization of new chemical entities using techniques including FTIR, Karl Fischer Titration, LC, and other specialized techniques to support the qualification of reference materials
- Independently plans, executes, and troubleshoots experiments that support reference material qualification activities
- Reviews testing data and results to ensure compliance to appropriate test methods, specifications, and protocols. Recognizes anomalous and inconsistent results and interprets outcomes
- Provides guidance to junior team members on data-driven experimental design and data interpretation and assists in troubleshooting of instrumentation and test methods
- Recommends alternatives, researches new methods and techniques, and proactively seeks out senior personnel to discuss potential solutions to problems
- Adheres to and incorporates GMP, GDP, and GLP principles in daily tasks and approach to work and maintains laboratory safety and ALCOA++ at all times
- Keeps abreast of changes in the pharmaceutical compendia and guidelines (e.g., USP, JP, EP, ICH)
- Participates in group meetings, present results of work, interpret data, and draw conclusions regarding presented material and nature of work
- Participates in departmental activities and improvements
Basic Qualifications:
- Master’s and 3+ years of relevant experience OR
- Bachelor’s and 5+ years of relevant experience OR
Preferred Qualifications:
- Proficiency or experience with one or more of the following techniques: Empower software for LC, solid state characterization (FTIR, DSC/TGA, etc.)
- Excellent verbal communication, critical thinking, and technical writing skills
- Flexibility to support changes in project priorities and be able to adapt to fast paced working environment
