Job Description

This position requires a master's level degree in a social services program (Professional Counselor, Social Worker, Psychologist) who has experience and possesses the ability to work independently. Staff will provide crisis mental health intervention services to clients presenting at the University Health Hospital Hill Emergency Department. Staff will provide emergency mental health assessments with appropriate referrals. This service is a 24 hour 7 day a week scheduling for staff.

• Promote quality care, safety, and cultural respect within the team and with patients.
• Provide age-appropriate care that meets patients’ physical, emotional, and educational needs.
• Maintain a professional and courteous demeanor with patients, families, and staff.
• Stay up-to-date on all compliance regulations and participate in required training.

What We’re Looking For

• Master’s degree in social work, psychology, counseling, or a related field.
• 1-2 years of experience in social services.
• Strong knowledge of psychiatric terms, mental health conditions, and community resources.
• Skilled in human services theory and practice at the master’s level.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
• Commitment to completing training and continuing education.
