Barbaricum seeks a highly skilled Munitions Engineer to provide essential support to the Naval Special Warfare (NSW) Unmanned and Small Combatants division in their Research, Development, Test, and Evaluation (RDT&E) efforts. The Munitions Engineer will play a crucial role in conducting research, analysis, system engineering, and assessments specific to the undersea domain. Acting as the technical lead for all munitions-related engineering requirements, this individual will support NSW Service Common, Undersea, Naval, Conventional, and Special Operations munitions and systems, ensuring compliance with relevant testing activities and requirements.
Responsibilities
- Conduct research and analyze data, design proposals, specifications, and manuals to assess the feasibility of design or application.
- Research, develop, plan, and design mechanical and electromechanical products and systems, potentially including nanotechnology.
- Oversee and coordinate activities involved in the fabrication, operation, application, installation, and repair of mechanical or electromechanical products and systems.
- Design products or systems, including instruments, controls, robots, engines, machines, mechanical, thermal, hydraulic, and heat transfer systems.
- Supervise engineering personnel in the fabrication of test control apparatuses, equipment, and the development of testing methods for products or systems.
- Coordinate the fabrication and installation of products, ensuring that systems conform to engineering design specifications.
- Coordinate operation, maintenance, and repair activities to ensure optimal utilization of machines and equipment.
- Design products to interface seamlessly with machines, hardware, and software.
- Utilize Computer-Aided Design (CAD) and Computer-Aided Manufacturing (CAM) systems for design data processing and to explore alternative designs.
- Evaluate field installations and recommend design modifications to eliminate machine or system malfunctions.
Qualifications
- Active DoD Secret clearance
- Minimum 5 years of experience providing engineering and technical development for munition systems
- Bachelor of Science degree in engineering, scientific, or technical discipline
