The Opportunity:
In this role, you will report to the Vice President of Lab & Production Services and will be responsible for the development, implementation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of all operations associated with distribution, service logistics and strategic operations for the Service’s division. This role is responsible for maintaining and increasing service product revenue and profitability by implementing new service solutions and insuring high levels of productivity. The strategy execution must be coordinated for 3 geographic regions (Americas, AMEA, and Europe) and responsible for the management of six direct reports and matrix to three LPS business leaders.
This is a remote position, with an expectation of 50% travel time, including international travel.
What we’re looking for
• Education: Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent work experience) is required / Master’s degree preferred
• Experience: 12 years’ experience with at least 5 years leadership/management responsibility; 7-10 years’ experience in Avantor services, sales and operations preferred
• Preferred Qualifications:
- GMP & GLP training preferred
- Six Sigma Lean Training preferred

Avantor’s Lab and Production Services team is a crucial part of the Avantor Services group serving over 500 customers in biopharma, pharmaceutical, educational, industrial, and high-tech industries with customizable, flexible solutions and end-to-end laboratory operations support. In this role you will:
- Responsible for recruiting, leading, and developing associates within the organization. Drives succession planning strategies and associate development plans.
- Management includes recruitment, training and supervision, developing metrics goals and coordination and communication with the sales team and customer.
- Supports team building and continuous improvement practices.
- Responsible for creating, establishing and negotiating customer contracts.
- Manages revenue growth and TOE and cost control.
- Drive operational excellence for continuous improvement and efficiencies.
- Zone management – responsible for collaborating with customer Sr. Management and acting as an Avantor ambassador.
- Establishes, maintains and reviews goals and objectives for department.
- Monitors and reports on actual performance vs. established goals and objectives.
- Leads, coaches and motivates team members to optimally perform job requirements and to continuously meet/ exceed department goals and objectives and insures they are in line with overall company goals and objectives.
- Serves as a role model and mentor in both words and actions for associates who express and exhibit a desire to pursue individual professional growth and also team growth.
- Plans, develops, and implements programs and procedures within scope of authority with an emphasis on process harmonization, improving department productivity, individual productivity, and corporate profitability.
