As the Senior Embedded Software Engineer at Ariadne, you will have the opportunity to work with cutting-edge technology, develop innovative software solutions, and help shape the future of brick-and-mortar businesses. You will collaborate with a team of talented engineers and developers to create embedded software solutions for Ariadne's products, working with hardware and software to ensure that our solutions meet the needs of our clients.
Responsibilities
- Firmware Development: Leading the design, development, and optimization of Ariadne's sensor firmware and software solutions. This includes developing innovative features, improving performance, and ensuring compatibility with industry standards.
- Linux Expertise: Leveraging your deep understanding of Linux-based operating systems to customize and optimize the embedded Linux platform used in our sensors. This involves configuring the kernel, drivers, and network stack for optimal performance and stability.
- Hardware-Software Interaction: Collaborating closely with the hardware team to ensure seamless interaction between the embedded software and the router hardware. This involves hardware bring-up, device driver development, and troubleshooting hardware-related issues.
- Performance Optimization: Analyzing system performance bottlenecks and implementing optimizations to enhance overall performance. This includes profiling and debugging software components, optimizing network protocols, and fine-tuning system parameters.
- Security and Quality Assurance: Implementing robust security measures and conducting vulnerability assessments to ensure the security of our networking products. Additionally, participating in code reviews, unit testing, and integration testing to maintain high software quality standards.
- Technical Leadership: Mentoring and guiding junior engineers, sharing your expertise, and fostering a collaborative and innovative engineering culture within the team. Leading design discussions, providing technical recommendations, and driving the adoption of best practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field
- At least 5 years of experience in embedded software development
- Strong proficiency in C/C++ programming languages
- Experience with real-time operating systems (RTOS) and embedded Linux systems, preferably OpenWRT
- Experience with microcontrollers, sensors, ARM processors, and IoT devices
- Familiarity with various communication protocols such as TCP/IP, USB, and CAN
- Experience with any of the following is a plus: Wi-Fi 802.11 protocols, cellular modules, Bluetooth BLE
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
