The Enterprise Diversity Equity and Inclusion team serves as a center of excellence for the Company, leading the development of DEI business strategy, partnering with leadership across lines of business and global markets, providing subject matter expertise on relevant inclusion practices, and enhancing our inclusion brand both inside and outside the company.  

We're seeking a Director of Strategic External Engagement - Enterprise DEI to lead our efforts in building strategic relationships with external stakeholders, driving community engagement, and generating valuable insights to support our diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) objectives. This role will report to the Enterprise VP of DEI – Inclusive Workforce and will be crucial in aligning our external activities with our business needs and DEI goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement global strategies for external stakeholder engagement that advance inclusion and support business objectives

  • Lead initiatives focused on specific dimensions of diversity, aligning with business needs

  • Manage budgets and investments to ensure maximum impact

  • Build and maintain relationships with key internal and external stakeholders

  • Provide external insights and resources to business segments to enhance their DEI strategies and actions

  • Collaborate with stakeholders across TWDC to deepen COE visibility and engagement with internal and external DEI benchmarks, KPIs, and leading indicators of progress

  • Collaborate across the organization to align community engagement efforts and champion our brands in all markets

  • Partner with various internal teams (e.g., CSR, Government Relations, Communications, Public Policy, Brand Development, etc.) to advance company reputation and enterprise DEI objectives

  • Drive two-way communication to amplify DEI content and communicate progress

  • Support employer branding efforts to attract diverse talent

  • Advise creative and product development teams on market relevance and representation

  • Serve as a trusted DEI counsel to business leaders

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of experience in DEI, Community Engagement, or related fields

  • Strong understanding of the media and entertainment marketplace

  • Proven leadership skills with a track record of turning vision into action

  • Experience building and motivating high-performing teams

  • Strategic thinker with a business-oriented mindset

  • Ability to challenge conventional wisdom and drive transformation

  • Skilled in building partnerships and influencing stakeholders at all levels

  • Expertise in integrating multiple data sources into actionable insights

  • Comfort with both quantitative and qualitative analysis

  • Excellent communication skills, adaptable to various environments

  • Ability to manage successful outcomes with external partners

  • Forward-thinking, with an understanding of long-term trends

Required Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field

Preferred Education

  • Master’s degree in a related field
