Job Description

We're seeking a highly motivated university student to join our dynamic IIOT and Analytics teams, offering hands-on learning experiences in the realm of Semiconductor Manufacturing and Factory Automation.

The IIOT/Analytics team helps create new and innovative solutions that utilize advanced analytics for the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT). The position involves supporting upgrades to Silicon Valley Wafer Operations Systems to capture real time data from sensors which integrate with factory systems to proactively diagnose equipment Issues. Responsibilities also include data analysis using statistical & machine learning algorithms.

An intern on the IIOT/Analytics team will gain expertise in:

  • Developing and deploying large-scale IIOT solutions.
  • Experiencing a full project lifecycle from initiation through execution
  • Deploying applications to the cloud and analyzing data on big data platforms
  • Interacting with end users and translating their problems into actionable software solutions

Qualifications

  • The preferred candidate is currently enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program majoring in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field with an interest in Data Analytics. Graduation date should range between December 2024 and June 2025
  • Must have programming experience in Python, SQL knowledge is a plus
  • Experience installing and troubleshooting hardware, especially Raspberry Pi  devices and attached devices is a plus
  • Preference will be given to candidates who will not require relocation to the San Jose, CA area. Relocation assistance will not be offered for this position.
  • Right to work in the US without requiring Western Digital to commence or sponsor an immigration case to employ you at any point in the future required (for example, H-1B or other employment-based immigration case)
