About the Role

As a Senior Backend Engineer at the company, you'll be at the forefront of architecting and implementing the backbone of their tech infrastructure. Your role spans from constructing robust backend systems to experimenting with innovative technologies. With their team, you'll experience accelerated learning and have the opportunity to craft meaningful products for thousands of users.

Being one of the pioneers in a rapidly growing team, you'll be instrumental in shaping their architecture and guiding infrastructure deployment and scaling strategies. Success in this position naturally leads to rapid progression and leadership prospects, with direct reporting to the CTO.

What You'll Be Doing

• Crafting and deploying the technical backbone necessary to underpin the company's backend - encompassing databases, servers, and APIs.
• Writing code that's clean, testable, scalable, efficient, and well-documented, all within an agile environment.
• Diagnosing and resolving production issues, identifying root causes, and implementing solutions to forestall future incidents.
• Developing a strategy that strikes the right balance between speed and scalability.
• Contributing to the product roadmap alongside the founding team, prioritizing features in line with customer needs.

Requirements

• You bring more than 5 years of Full Stack Development experience, including shipping products.
• Proficiency in building web applications using React/Typescript and frameworks such as Express.js/Next.js.
• A solid grasp of RESTful API design and development, coupled with experience integrating with third-party APIs.
• Strong background in working with relational databases like MySQL.
• Familiarity with AWS and serverless computing.
• A solid foundation in core computer science principles, including data structures, algorithms, and architectures.
• Exceptional communication skills, enabling effective collaboration with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Bonus Points

• Experience in building LLM applications using the OpenAI API and working with vector databases is highly desirable.
• Past experience in building Chrome extensions.
