Job Description

AECOM Hunt has is seeking an experienced Construction Assistant Project Manager for our ongoing construction project at JFK airport.

  • Under moderate supervision assists the Project Management team with management administration on a moderate size and scope project, or a portion of a large size and scope project, following set guidelines for completion of tasks.
  • Employee receives moderate to limited supervision working from objectives set by supervisor.
  • Employee organizes and carries out most assignments in accordance with standard practices, instructions, or previous training. Employee handles some unusual situations independently.  
  • May interface with design team.
  • May work closely with BIM team and use modelling software.
  • May interact with Superintendents to address project questions/issues.
  • Assists with and monitors change orders.
  • May assist with regulatory compliance and financial reporting.
  • Review project costs and scheduling to ensure completion of project within budget and in conformance with contract.
  • Work with document control systems, project management systems and other software or databases to keep information flow up-to-date and accurate.
  • Attend meetings and report on project tasks as needed.
  • May provide technical direction and guidance to subordinate managers, enforces company and project policies.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • BS Engineering or similar curriculum and 2 years of experience in construction project management, or AA/AS and 4 years of relevant experience, or HS/GED and 6 years of relevant experience. 

Preferred Requirements:

  • BS Engineering preferred.
  • Airport experience and Port Authority experience.
  • Experience in construction Project Management, preferably from a large mega-construction project.
  • Experience on large infrastructure construction projects.
  • Experience in scheduling, management of subcontractors and vendors.
  • Experience with standard construction documentation such as estimating, change orders, RFI’s, punch list etc.
  • Knowledgeable in local building and construction codes.
  • OSHA 10.
  • Microsoft Office proficiency (Word, Excel, Outlook). 
  • Offered rate of compensation (New York City only) will be based on individual education, qualification, experience and work location. The salary range for the position is $36.70 - $67.89 hourly (non-exempt).
