Overview
Savannah River Mission Completion, LLC (SRMC) is seeking a Deputy Facility Manager, Tank Farms to be based in our Aiken, SC location on the Savannah River Site.
The Deputy Facility Manager, Tank Farms acts as deputy to the facility manager and provides senior facility leadership in managing the facility operation and planning activities in a safe and disciplined manner to meet objectives established by the Department of Energy (DOE) and SRMC management. Interfaces with DOE, DNFSB and other stakeholders on facility operations and provides relief for the facility manager in his/her absence.
Responsibilities
- Takes an active leadership role in support of the Local Safety Improvement Team (LSIT)
- Performs routine assessments of team performance including areas such as disciplined operations, maintenance, construction, engineering, radiation/contamination protection, environmental protection, safeguards and security and quality assurance
- Leads overall operation of the facility to deliver company mission and objectives. Provides leadership of Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, Quality Assurance, Construction, Environmental, Safety and Health professionals to ensure facility milestones are met with a high standard of excellence
- Serves as a primary point of contact with stakeholders including, but not limited to, DOE, DNFSB, and CAB. Manages all aspects of facility operations to meet DOE and regulatory requirements. Demonstrates a high degree of flexibility to ensure the facility team adapts to ever changing requirements
- Prepares and implements production plans and schedules and allocates resources to meet production demands
- Responsible for disciplined fiscal performance while utilizing the Earned Value Management System
- Provides Primary CAM (Cost Account Manager) function for the facility.
- Ensures project requirements are appropriately integrated with facility operations to deliver company commitments
- Provides leadership to numerous management teams including the Management Review Team, Corrective Action Review Board and Facility Operations Safety Committee with focus on improving facility operations
- Manages human relations and resource needs in the facility, including responses to employee concerns
- Provides personnel development for direct staff, including career management and corrective discipline where necessary
- Change agent implementing initiatives to support innovation and improve cost effectiveness
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- BS in Engineering or related technical or science degree, with progressive experience in a complex industrial environment.
- Experience must include a minimum of two (2) years working at a nuclear site.
- Project Management experience
- Demonstrated leadership experience including previous direct people management
Additional Information:
This position may fall under DOE Order 426.2 and as such must meet the conditions of the order. On an exception basis, equivalencies for education and experience may be applied.
Preferred Qualifications
- Broad technical base which demonstrates chemical and nuclear material processing knowledge
- Broad understanding of environmental laws and regulations, DOE orders and knowledge of company policies
