About the role

Basic Job Function:

Provide an emerging leader or hospitality management student/graduate the opportunity to gain hands-on leadership experience while rotating through multiple departments within the Food & Beverage Division. In conjunction with F&B management, assist in the overall supervision of various outlet operations. Promote the Sea Island legacy of warm genuine hospitality while upholding and ensuring compliance with all company and departmental policies and procedures.

 

Use of Company Vehicle:  Not designated to drive a company vehicle

 

Minimum Requirements:

  • Completed course work in accredited hospitality degree program
  • Experience and/or strong knowledge of operations preferred
  • Strong leadership ability, sound judgment, superior problem-solving and decision-making skills with particular attention to quality and detail
  • Strong guest and team member relations skills
  • Stong Time Management and attention to detail skills
  • Ability to receive and discreetly respond to sensitive and confidential employee information
  • Excellent organizational skills, detail oriented, ability to multi-task and able to manage competing priorities in a fast paced environment
  • Proven track record of being energetic, forward-thinking, creative and able to challenge the status quo whole providing highly effective training solutions to business needs.
  • Highly proficient in Windows XP and Microsoft Office software applications such as: Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Must possess aptitude for learning and utilizing software applications pertinent to the functions of this job
  • Ability to easily adapt to organizational and environmental changes
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to work simple math calculations
  • Must have ability to accurately handle money, make change, process credit card transactions
  • Proficient with peripherals, copier, fax, telephone and calculator

Tasks/Responsibilities:

 

  •  Rotate through multiple outlets learning the various components necessary to manage the operation
  • Responsible for daily floor coverage and management as it relates to staffing, problem resolution, and communication with team memebrs and guests.
  • Responsible for line level coaching and counseling while leading shifts.
  • Train and work in all line level positions.
  • Responsible for learning processes and systems that correlate with inventory, occupancy, payroll and group business.
  • Monitor and get involved with the proper execution of all policies and procedures.
  • Participate and encourage the development of fellow leaders and team members during tenure ship in a department.
  • Participate in scheduling team members and updating schedules as necessary.
  • Complete assignments and projects as assigned with guidance of coach, in a timely fashion.
  • Attend training activities such as Leadership Foundations.
  • Discuss key learning’s from each area to Leadership Committee members prior to rotating to next area in rotation.
  • Supervise and run shifts as needed in the various outlets.
  • Maintain a thorough knowledge of current guest services, activities, dining options, shops, local attractions, and historical information regarding Sea Island and the surrounding area to answer any questions guests may have to the best of one’s ability
  • If applicable, complete a Guest Problem Resolutions (GPR) form on any issues (solved or unsolved issues) and follow-up on issues as needed (if computer access is not available give information to admin support)
  • Maintains cleanliness and organization in all work areas
  • Uphold appropriate departmental standards of quality/timing
  • Uphold and ensure compliance with all company and departmental policies and proc
