Sr. Systems Engineer

Dave is looking for talented Systems Engineers to play an instrumental role in securing IT infrastructure. We’re pursuing a self service strategy in IT and that requires someone with automation experience as well as a secure by design approach to help employees remain productive. IT at Dave ensures our employees are secure against cyber attacks, engaged and productive by owning Dave’s IT infrastructure (Okta, Kandji, Crowdstrike, etc.) collaborative systems (Google Workspace, Slack, Atlassian, etc.) and assisting with maintaining and supporting our other business operation tools. Our philosophies for Dave IT include zero-touch, zero-trust, self-healing / auto-remediation, cloud infrastructure, and ITSM.

What You'll Do

• Build automation and infrastructure in a cloud native environment, including security monitoring of our IT infrastructure
• Be curious and explore weaknesses in our IT systems and infrastructure, and work to strengthen our approach to a zero trust architecture
• Work closely with the security team, infrastructure teams, and business stakeholders to build creative solutions that make tradeoffs between security & IT.
• Administer core IT infrastructure like our IDP, Google Workspace, collaborative tooling, and core IT security tools.
• Develop scripts, workflows, and tool that will automate repeatable tasks and processes
• Participate in engineering practices including design, code, and architecture review
• Extract, transform, and load data from disparate IT and Security systems to build on the data driven culture in IT
• Participate in the team’s on-call rotation and help drive incidents to resolution
• Enhance team playbooks, documentations, and team processes.
• Provide escalation support on IT issues
• Mentor and pair with other engineers regularly

What You'll Need

• Bachelor's degree in related discipline or other field which requires logical creative thinking
• 4+ years of experience working with system administration of various SaaS tools and cloud infrastructure (e.g. Okta, Google Workspace, Slack, Atlassian, ZTNA, etc.)
• Extensive experience working with various CLI tools and various programming/scripting languages (e.g. Shell, Python, Terraform, Google Cloud, etc.)
• Advanced knowledge of OS X, including MDM, endpoint security, system logging, networking, and IAM systems
• Working knowledge of Git/Github, and public cloud infrastructure (preferred Google Cloud Platform)
• Strong communication and project management experience
